Welcome to Frontiers

As the director of Frontiers: The Heartland Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, I thank you for your interest in our program. Funded by a multi-year Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) grant in 2011, Frontiers is a member of a national coalition of more than 60 universities focused on translational research – research that helps bring cures and therapies to patients faster. We’re proud to serve as the hub for translational research in the region, and we’ve brought together experts from hospitals and universities around the Kansas City region to help our already strong translational researchers do their work even better.

For those just starting out on their research careers, we encourage you to visit our Research Gateway to help you get started. We can help get promising research off the ground by offering pilot grant funding for projects still in their early stages. We also offer educational opportunities for young researchers just starting out on their careers.

For those further along in their research careers, we offer a variety of different options, too. Researchers who are looking for assistance in putting together a research project can ask us for a brainstorming session. Anyone with questions about how to access pilot grant funding, educational opportunites or any of our Frontiers resources may email frontiers-info@kumc.edu or call (913)-588-6290.

Thanks for your interest in our program. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have about Frontiers.
